Job Description

The Senior Director of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis directs, manages and performs all necessary activities in support of the rue21 financial reporting and planning function; including but not limited to annual budgeting, strategic long-term planning, monthly performance reporting and analysis, monthly forecast updates, board reporting, lender reporting, treasury projections and internal management reporting.

This position manages a team of three and establishes priorities, develops team capabilities, and ensures timely and accurate reporting to all constituencies.

Commits to supporting rue21’s vision, mission, and values of an inclusive environment and sets an example for their team or sphere of influence.

  • Participates in the monthly closing process providing performance analysis versus projections
  • Prepares the monthly reporting packages for internal and external requirements; including senior management, lenders, and board audiences
  • Collaborates with business partners to prepare monthly forecast updates including income statement preparation, liquidity analysis and ad-hoc analysis
  • Leads performance variance analysis and discussion with functional leadership
  • Provides financial analysis on sales and operational metrics to support strategic decisions and initiatives
  • Manages daily treasury reporting and liquidity projections
  • Participates in the Enterprise Intelligence project to provide direction regarding critical date to support all financial analysis objectives
  • Leads the company’s annual budgeting process and provide profitability insights and key business trends
  • Actively supports strategic initiatives and provide financial insights as required
  • Supports store profitability analysis and participates in real estate decision making
  • Ensures data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and forecasting
  • Develops a team focused on delivering best in class finance support and partnership
  • Provides ad hoc analysis to support business objectives

Qualifications

  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in financial planning for a multi unit retail organization
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and retail accounting
  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling
  • Track record of collaborating with cross functional teams
  • Dynamic and self motivated, must have the business acumen and drive necessary to function in a fast paced changing retail environment
  • Detail oriented approach to analytics
