Job Description

The Payroll Representative contributes to rue21’s results by handling the data-entry and processing of bi-weekly payroll for assigned stores, communicate with stores and field management regarding issues and changes, and adhere to set deadlines while upholding accuracy in all processed information.   

  • Commits to supporting rue21’s vision, mission, and values of an inclusive environment and sets an example for their team or sphere of influence.                                                                                                
  • Reconcile bi-weekly payroll for approximately 250 store locations in various states
  • Maintain all payroll files and paperwork, accounting for missed punches, benefit time, back pay hours, status changes, garnishments, etc.  
  • Process payroll based on the current age and hour laws and regulations
  • Interact effectively with store and field personnel on a daily basis                                                                                            

Qualifications

  • 1 + years’ experience with ADP; Enterprise (EV5) payroll system preferred          
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all current and federal and state wage and hour laws                 
  • Demonstrated mathematical, quantitative, and problem solving                          
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills              
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationship with co-workers  and cross-functional teams                                                         
  • Strong professional and effective verbal and written communication skills   
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment 
  • Engaging interpersonal and presentation skills. 
  • Efficient organization, prioritization, and time management skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions to make recommendations.
