The Senior Buyer for Intimate Apparel contributes to rue21’s results being responsible for all aspects of merchandise selection and strategy, vendor negotiation, as well as fashion trend and forecasting sense. This position is based out of our Warrendale, PA office, however, we are considering remote candidates willing to travel to the office as needed. 

• Commits to supporting rue21’s vision, mission, and values of an inclusive environment and sets an example for their team or sphere of influence.
• Coordinates requirements, specifications, timing, and distribution for merchandise selection
• Develop strategies and criteria for negotiations
• Evaluate competitive offerings to determine the overall best offer for a product/service
• Resolve quality problems with suppliers and user departments
• Participate in cross-functional teams. Visual merchandising, planning, allocation, marketing, social.
• Drive Omni sales/margin through merchandising, promotions, exclusives, and storytelling.
• Develop effective supplier relationships
• Develop/manage/evaluate relationships with other internal departments
• Build the Brand in all activities; inclusive of quality and timely execution
• Coordinate with marketing and visual departments for sales promotion and visual direction
• Maintain and update open-to-buy daily, weekly and monthly
• Support Executive Strategic plans through product.
• Train and develop merchant team members.

• Five to six+ years of experience as Buyer with extensive Intimate Apparel knowledge
• Specialty retail experience highly desired
• Great teammate. You know how to work with and influence those around you, and you don’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and help when others need it. 
• Engaging interpersonal and presentation skills. 
• Product development/private label experience 
• Efficient organization, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationships with co-workers and cross-functional teams
• Ability to work with and influence senior management 
• Ability to foster a positive and motivating work environment, encouraging feedback and innovation
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines
• Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field
• Prior managerial/supervisor experience
