The Pricing & Promotions Manager contributes to rue21’s results by managing the reporting, analysis and data maintenance for all pricing and promotional activity for the company.  They’re driven, take initiative and possess a strong attention to detail that aids in achieving the best results. Their analytical abilities help to drive the success of the business. This position reports to the Manager of Central Planning and report to our office in Warrendale, PA.

Job Description

• Commits to supporting rue21’s vision, mission, and values of an inclusive environment and sets an example for their team or sphere of influence.
• Manage the setup, maintenance, and communication of all promotional activity.  
• Validate permanent markdowns and promotions are accurately and efficiently executed.  
• Track all promotional and permanent price changes for historical libraries.
• Examine and streamline work flows and processes within the team to increase efficiency.
• Manage multiple, time-sensitive deliverables and competing priorities with excellence.
• Evaluate business and operational problems, manage and conduct data-driven analysis to assess potential solutions, and develop strategic recommendations that address the root cause of problems.
• Leverage data to understand trends and identify opportunities to improve pricing systems and models.
• Monitor key performance indicators and metrics for special and recurring projects. 
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Build and maintain reports that empower our business and operations partners to best manage price performance. Ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
• Provide clear, concise, and accurate promotional communications with cross functional partners.  Lead discussions with partners to ensure utilization of analytical and pricing tools.
• Provide timely, effective and actionable feedback and coaching to reporting individuals so that they may continue growth and development as well as perform necessary responsibilities of their role.
• Completes all the people management activities associated with leadership of a highly functioning team, including responsibilities of recruiting, hiring, developing and performance management of team members.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the retail industry high desired.
• Efficient organization, prioritization, and time management skills. 
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions to make recommendations.
• Great teammate. You know how to work with and influence those around you, and you don’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and help when others need it. 
• You have a coaching leadership style that inspires direct reports to grow. 
• Engaging interpersonal and presentation skills. 
• Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment. 
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines.
