Job Description

The Social Media Specialist is responsible for identifying, pursuing and managing all external brand partnership activations and securing exclusive partnerships for rue21. Work closely with PR agency to ensure editorial content and exclusive partnerships are securing placements and overall strategy is being executed to. Increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies. Work closely with paid advertising agency to identify wins and opportunities and stay on top of content and key promotions relevant to posting cadence. Develop keen sense of reporting and be able to identify strengths and weaknesses of the business.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day administrative duties including but not limited to, scheduling and posting content, replying to consumer inquiries, etc.
  • Day-to-Day Community Management Responsible for the execution of social media communications strategy through content development, calendar management, and relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Responsible for building, writing content and maintaining all social media platforms
  • Lead and manage efforts of editorial gifting strategy and brand messaging with PR agency of record
  • Responsible for community engagement and involvement via social media and in person.
  • Write blog content and ensure SEO best practices are being met
  • Establish and activate exclusive brand partnerships for rue21 and provide onsite presence for corresponding events including live social media coverage and customer interaction
  • Create effective copy and manage creative assets for earned media exposure.
  • Work closely with creative team to provide direction and make sure all assets are being handed off on requested date
  • Develop, execute and leverage social media efforts to grow market share and expand brand awareness.
  • Understand current trends, technologies and advancements in the digital space
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing activities, and assets against goals, identify trends and insights, and optimize plan based on these insights.
  • Maintain consistent system of measurement and evaluation of all social media activations and brand partnerships
  • Extend marketing initiatives and editorial content into relevant external publications (forums, new sites, blogs, etc).
  • Monitor customer service team to ensure all customer inquiries are responded to and resolved in a timely manner
  • Engage and align partnerships with paid & non-paid social media efforts and campaigns.
  • Make sure all copy and creative content is handed off to agency in a timely manner
  • Work closely with in store and digital teams to ensure all social messaging is aligned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated professional social media experience is required.
  • Ability to take the lead on assigned projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and follow through.
  • Experience in a PR/ Influencer relations role preferred
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with both internal and external customers.
  • Must have a high attention to detail while multi-tasking.
  • High energy for a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to research, draw conclusions, and summarize data for discussion and review.
  • Take ownership and pride in responsibilities.
  • Possess the ability to organize and prioritize while working with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast- paced and deadline-oriented environment
