Job Description

The Sr. Manager of Construction/Store Facilities in the Supply Chain Department is operationally driven. They are responsible for overseeing the Zone Facilities team to ensure proper support and efficient operation of rue21’s facilities. This role will work closely with the Field Construction team, Store Operations and any other cross functional partners in order to identify, recommend, develop and implement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage life cycle of rue21 facilities/construction including acquisition, negotiation, procurement, implementation, and manage vendor relationships
  • Procure, manage and monitor inventory levels for all new store construction, owner furnished items and equipment
  • Review purchase needs, maintenance contracts as appropriate to leverage opportunities for rue21
  • Evaluate all vendors/suppliers on the basis of price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and selection
  • Ensure accuracy of Accruent’s data for facility management and utilize the system to analyze cost initiatives for vendors, warranties, and purchases
  • Oversee project design, hiring, supervising, selecting contractors, monitoring all inventory, prepare budgets/estimates
  • Report progress to clients/rue21’s cross functional partners and work in compliance with construction laws
  • Assist in the completion of project plans (i.e. retail store build out), specifically as it relates to assigned construction/facilities action items
  • Manage weekly/ monthly facility expense budgets and quarterly CA spend
  • Mentor/ develop young facility staff
  • Run weekly conference calls with outside facility vendor partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Construction Management or related field
  • 6+ years’ in project management experience in retail construction/facilities
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and attention to detail to meet established deadlines
  • High Degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Ability to operate independently while establishing strong working relationship with co-workers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong professional and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines 
  • Ability to adapt well to change in direction and priority in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
