Job Description
JOB FUNCTION
Under little or no supervision, perform all duties necessary to set up, repair, and maintain equipment, buildings, and grounds while ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND PROCEDURES
- Working from wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, prints, and verbal instructions, lay out, install, test, repair, and maintain all types of plant equipment and facilities.
- Draft and fabricate fixturing, tooling, repair parts, or replacement parts as required (i.e., lathe, mill, CNC, etc.).
- Move materials, parts, machinery, tools, or other equipment as required.
- Install and maintain wiring, conduit, and test circuits for continuity.
- Identify components needed to complete tasks, i.e., wiring configurations, material types, etc.
- Perform carpentry, painting, plumbing, pipe fitting, and masonry on equipment, building fixtures, perimeter and drive areas, walkways, and grounds as required.
- Perform all other related duties.
- Responsible for the quality and safety of work performed.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, or related technical experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the basic fundamentals of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems. Such knowledge shall include, but not be limited to, solid-state troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of parts and assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency within the guidelines of applicable building, electrical, fire, safety, and maintenance codes.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance shop equipment, power tools, hand tools, welding equipment, forklifts, and lifting devices.
- Experience using oscilloscopes and various meters to identify complex electrical waveforms in industrial-type equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with maintenance software systems and Microsoft Office applications.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification.
- Forklift operation certification.
