Job Description
The Junior Financial Analyst supports the Finance team in tracking, updating, and producing accurate financial reports for projects, departments, and internal systems. This role contributes to project creation and tracking, financial reporting, tax credit documentation, outsourcing follow-ups, and grant application support for animated IP projects.
This position is ideal for an early-career finance or accounting professional who is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and comfortable working with financial data, systems, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Data Entry and Accuracy
Enter, maintain, and accurately validate financial data in internal systems, including overtime, rendering costs, advertising expenses, and any other project-related financial information.
Ensure data integrity by reviewing entries, identifying inconsistencies, and following up as needed when information is missing or incomplete.
Extract and validate data from NetSuite through ETL processes, when required.
Project Tracking and Financial Control
Create, track, and maintain projects in the appropriate financial systems.
Monitor project status, budgets, payment schedules, and related financial information.
Support the Finance team in maintaining accurate and up-to-date project data for reporting and analysis purposes.
Tax Credits, Outsourcing, and Documentation Support
Support processes related to tax credits and outsourcing through data entry, document tracking, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
Participate in the preparation of tax credit applications by collecting, organizing, and validating the required information.
Maintain professional communication with producers and other stakeholders to obtain missing documents or clarify financial information.
Reporting, Meetings, and Cross-Functional Support
Assist the Financial Analyst in preparing financial reports, summaries, and supporting documentation.
Participate in Advertising department head meetings and follow up on relevant financial information.
Track animated IP projects and support the preparation of documentation related to grant applications, as needed.
Collaborate with Finance, Production, and department teams to ensure timely and accurate information flow.
Organization, Confidentiality, and Continuous Improvement
Effectively prioritize tasks based on deadlines, reporting needs, and operational priorities.
Handle financial and business information with a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Contribute to the improvement of financial tracking, documentation, and reporting processes by identifying opportunities to improve structure, accuracy, or efficiency.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate or early-career finance professional with up to 1 year of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, reporting, or financial operations.
Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Administrative Techniques, Attestation of College Studies (AEC) in Accounting, or a related diploma. New graduates are welcome.
Good knowledge of ERP systems, ideally NetSuite.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.*

*This role requires daily collaboration with teams located outside Quebec, including Los Angeles, Toronto, and Bengaluru (India), where English is the primary working language. The successful candidate will also communicate regularly with international external partners and stakeholders. As such, strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, are essential to succeed in this role and operate effectively in our global environment.
