Job Description
The SQL Server DBA will maintain, enhance, and further develop a long-lifespan, stored-procedure–centric application. This role ensures performant and reliable data operations through expert query tuning, stored procedure development, SSRS reporting, and robust database design. You will translate complex client requirements into actionable technical tasks while supporting a normalized, multi-module environment.
- T-SQL Codebase Ownership: Maintain, refactor, and optimize a deep T-SQL codebase, including complex queries, views, stored procedures, and functions across all OBMS modules.
- Performance Engineering: Lead query tuning, indexing, and performance diagnostics for large-scale, complex databases to ensure reliable data operations.
- SSRS Reporting: Design, develop, and deploy mission-critical SSRS reports, ensuring high standards for data accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Stakeholder Translation: Partner with internal client managers, operations, and finance teams to capture business requirements and translate them into actionable technical tasks.
- Ticket-Driven Delivery: Manage and prioritize technical tasks triaged through the help desk (Javan), communicating status, risks, and timelines clearly to DTS leadership.
- Governance & Quality: Document all database changes, follow strict change management protocols, and uphold best practices for multi-environment migrations.
- System Modernization: Contribute to database design patterns for new or enhanced modules and support ETL/data integration where applicable.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7–10+ years of hands-on SQL Server experience in production environments with a heavy emphasis on stored procedure usage.
- Technical Mastery: Proven expertise in query tuning and performance optimization for large, complex databases (e.g., execution plan analysis, indexing strategies).
- Reporting Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the full SSRS development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Legacy Proficiency: Ability to work effectively in a "No ORM" environment, writing and maintaining high-performance raw SQL.
- Communication: Strong consulting orientation with the ability to bridge the gap between technical team members and non-technical stakeholders.

- Ecosystem Knowledge: Familiarity or exposure to .NET environments.
- Domain Expertise: Experience working with budgeting systems, financial platforms, or fund-based accounting.
- Advanced Modeling: Exposure to OLAP/multidimensional models and ETL platforms.
- Reporting Tools: Experience with Excel-based reporting and advanced data visualization.
