Job Description

A Day in the Life

  • Meet with team in the morning to organize day/week
  • Have meeting with other managers to discuss resource allocation/priorities
  • Meet with client and their financial advisor to discuss retirement planning
  • Train staff on how to do 1031 exchange in Lacerte
  • Review work from Sr. Accountants
  • Read new tax law bills and keep team updated

 

Core Responsibilities for Clients

  • Takes the lead on high-level technical work for clients
  • Effective decision maker that can handle making
    • Judgment calls on how to handle touch relational or technical situations
    • Can determine and back up their interpretation of a technical issue
  • Reviews work performed by senior accountants for quality assurance
  • Supports senior accountants' oversight of staff accountants through work review and coaching
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures
  • Performs other related duties and project work as assigned

 

Core Responsibilities for the Firm

  • Manage between $350,000-600,000 of client work
  • Identify when processes need to be updated for more efficiency, clarity, or increased customer service
  • Effectively communicates with team members regarding work expectations, timing, and overall capacity
  • Develop deep relationships with our clients to understand their needs and which services are best suited for them now and in the future
  • Develop professional relationships with team members to support, mentor and grow professional soft skills

Qualifications

  • Must have CPA license or EA
  • Pro Advisor Certification would be a plus
  • Experience and comfort utilizing cloud-based accounting software and tools like Notion, Slack, as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Experience with managing and developing junior accounting team members
  • Demonstrated client retention experience
  • Business Development and cross selling of firm services experience
  • High level of curiosity
  • Ability to uphold values with team members and clients
  • Ability to have hard conversations professionally with team members and clients
  • Expert technical accounting skills, overall generalist or subject matter expert
  • Garners respect from team members and clients
