We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Project/Program Manager to join our Central PMO office in Analog & Mixed-Signal Product Group.  In this role, you will exhibit full project ownership, acting as the go-to person for internal teams and managing assigned chip development projects from kick-off to customer release. You will lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams to deliver complex mixed-signal products, ensuring alignment with Renesas' global methodologies and strategic goals.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned chip development projects for the SPD, Standard Products Division, by leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed teams focused on delivering products from kick-off through customer release.
  • Develops, Defines, and executes project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Exhibit full project ownership, become the go-to person for all internal teams for questions related to assigned projects and have total involvement in all phases of product development process from start to finish.
  • Work with SPD, Standard Products Division PMO portfolio lead responsible for tracking projects metrics/KPI such as schedule, risks, scope, budget, cost entitlement and manufacturability.
  • Support Annual Operation Planning. Working with SPD, Standard Products Division PM leader to estimate, forecast, and manage individual project as well as program/portfolio spending to ensure actual spending tracks closely with forecast and avoid surprises.
  • Maintain good discipline & practice guidelines, processes, and execution methodologies for team to continuously improve project execution.
  • Build trust and collaborate closely with functional leadership from other functional teams for identifying and removing execution roadblocks, mitigate risks and improve efficiencies for continuously improving project execution.
  • Collaborate with X-functional teams and with peers from other business groups to drive collaboration and harvest best practices and lessons learned to keep SPD, Standard Products Division Product group in sync with One Renesas methodologies, tools and systems.
  • Work with demand creation, sales and marketing to align execution and sample priorities with market and customer needs to allow us to compete and win.
  • Effectively communicate with leadership, with the team and across the organization to keep stakeholders, leadership informed of project status in periodic project reviews.
  • Escalate early to identify and address issues before they start to impact execution metrics.
  • Guide team to prepare and effectively report project status updates at management decision point reviews as well as cross functional project progress reviews.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Japanese, with the ability to support clear, respectful communication across global and cross-cultural teams.
  • Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and at the required quality level, with a first-time-right execution mindset.
  • Implement project management strategy to challenge status quo and drive higher efficiency of execution to scale up to the roadmap requirements.
  • Continuous focus on mitigating project risk by tracking progress, contingency planning and acting on small signals with high urgency and timely escalation to prevent firefighting. 
  • Develop a strong discipline mindset among project teams that understand their role and responsibilities, collaborate with each other and others in the team and seamlessly execute with continuous focus on improving all execution segments.

Experience

  • Experienced semiconductor professional with 5-7+ years of relevant experience working for a major analog semiconductor company.
  • 3-5+ years of hand`s on technical program/project management experience leading teams to develop broad market or custom mix-signal analog products for commercial, industrial or automotive applications. PMP certification is not a requirement but will be plus.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience being part of Product line NPI functional teams as a hands-on product, test, validation, design, quality or related function.
  • In depth understanding of new product introduction and product development flow from concept to production release. Exposure to Automotive process is a plus.

Skills

  • Proficient with industry standard project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Microsoft OneNote 

Education

  • BS, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Masters or PhD EE is preferred
