Job Title: Senior Java Developer Retirement-Health

Job Description:
  • Java, Tomcat, Spring, SQL, Hadoop, HTML5/Javascript Developer
  • Ability to work in all layers of an application
  • Desire to produce entire applications as an individual
  • Analyzing and designing for complex web UIs using rich internet technologies
  • Creative outside-the-box thinking and solutions
Development experience
  • Analyzing, designing, coding, building, debugging and migrating JEE applications
  • Creating and maintaining supporting documentation
  • Written and verbal communication of assignment status
  • Troubleshooting application and environment issues
  • Performing and aiding quality assurance testing
  • Performing and aiding in performance testing
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with J2EE platform and Java application development lifecycle
  • Strong database skills querying data efficiently in a JDBC environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies and skills quickly
  • Strong core java skills and practical knowledge of basic/intermediate design patterns
  • Strong understanding of SOA and layered architectures
  • Working knowledge of Object Oriented Design, Abstraction
  • Good troubleshooting skills including cross browser and accessibility issues
  • Knowledge of Presentation Layer technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML, HTML5, Ajax, etc.)
  • Experience building and designing heavy volume multi-browser applications using JavaScript libraries like JQuery
  • Strong understanding of clean, reusable RIA designs and techniques (such as Ajax field validation, image sprites, JSON data loading, Restful services, etc)
  • College degree in Computer Science, engineering or Information Technology. Advanced degree a plus.
Pluses:
  • Experience with Spring 4.0+
  • Experience with MySQL variants (our project uses MariaDB)
  • Experience with Hadoop/Spark
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Experience with Tomcat
  • Experience with Cloud-based development
  • Experience with Splunk
  • Experience with Javascript libraries like JQuery and Highcharts
