We are seeking a talented Senior Landscape Planner to join our growing, 18-strong team of landscape architects and landscape planners. Ideally, the role would be based in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices; however, other office locations can be discussed on an individual basis.

Your new role 

You will work in a collaborative and supportive environment where, as a Senior Landscape Planner, you will be expected to work with the wider team to prepare technically robust deliverables and inform creative and innovative approaches for development of optimum outcomes for people, nature and the environment. 

Ramboll has a large in-house environmental team, and we work collaboratively with them to find effective, original mitigation and design solutions. As a Senior Landscape Planner, your key tasks and responsibilities will be: 

• Lead and coordinate landscape inputs for defined project workstreams, ensuring high-quality, technically accurate and timely outputs. 
• Apply specialist landscape knowledge to analyse information, identify issues and develop robust solutions. 
• Undertake research, data collection, site visits, technical photography and landscape assessments. 
• Prepare clear written, graphic and presentation materials for design, planning and environmental assessment reports. 
• Lead or contribute to client, stakeholder and multidisciplinary project meetings. 
• Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients and external consultants while mentoring junior colleagues. 
• Manage and prioritise your own workload with limited supervision, contributing to proposals, tenders and resource planning. 
• Use relevant professional standards, digital tools and software to improve project delivery, efficiency and quality. 
• Understand when and where to seek advice or support from more experienced colleagues. 

About you 

The successful candidate will be a talented landscape professional with a good understanding of industry standards and professional practice. You will be diligent, proactive, well-organised and flexible, with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. The ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, clients and project teams is essential. • Master’s or postgraduate qualification in landscape architecture or a related discipline, ideally from a Landscape Institute-accredited course. 
• Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute, or equivalent professional accreditation, preferred. 
• Relevant professional experience in landscape architecture, planning and assessment (experience of working on wind farm projects is highly desirable). 
• Ability to lead and coordinate landscape inputs for defined project workstreams. 
• Sound knowledge of industry standards, professional practice and technical guidance. 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills, with the ability to develop robust solutions. 
• Experience producing clear, accurate written, graphic and presentation materials. 
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills when working with multidisciplinary teams, clients and stakeholders. 
• Well-organised and able to manage workloads independently, mentor junior colleagues, and use relevant software, including Microsoft Office, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, Autodesk packages and/or Revit. 

You are a creative and analytical landscape professional with sound professional judgement and the ability to contribute effectively across a wide range of projects and stages. You will work as a key member of the national landscape and environment teams, collaborating with colleagues, clients, external experts and other disciplines to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
