- Influence strategic workforce decisions supporting Flying Operations and Cabin Crew
- Permanent opportunity based at our Melbourne Head Office
If you’ve ever thought about a career in aviation — now is the perfect time to take off with Jetstar. We’re looking for talented people who are passionate about making a meaningful impact, solving complex problems and helping us continue to shape the future of low fares travel.
As Manager, Crew Systems & Business Analysis, you will play a key leadership role within Jetstar’s Workforce Planning team, providing strategic analysis and systems expertise across Flying Operations and Cabin Crew. The role supports a crew workforce of approximately 4,000 people and is accountable for the integrity, configuration and optimisation of core planning systems including Jeppesen, ALPAS and JBID/StarBid.
You will lead a specialist team across systems, optimisation and business analysis, ensuring the team delivers high-quality insights, scenario modelling and recommendations to support business-critical decisions. This includes advanced what-if analysis, workforce planning roadmap support, enterprise bargaining analysis, trade-off recommendations and long-range planning inputs across areas such as training, headcount and simulator demand.
This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with senior stakeholders across Workforce Planning, Flying Operations, Cabin Crew, Employee Relations, Networks & Scheduling and broader Qantas Group teams. You’ll be encouraged to think innovatively, challenge the status quo and balance commercial, industrial and crew engagement considerations in your recommendations.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A business or aviation degree, or equivalent industry experience
- 5–10 years’ experience in Airline Operations and/or Workforce Planning
- 3–5 years’ experience leading, coaching and supporting a team
- Experience with crew scheduling or optimisation systems, such as Jeppesen, highly desirable
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
- Strong understanding of workforce planning systems and processes
- Sound knowledge of enterprise bargaining processes and frameworks
- Proven ability to lead technical specialists and subject matter experts across multiple disciplines
- Strong communication, negotiation, organisational and influencing skills at senior levels
- Commercial acumen and proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives and stakeholders
