Job Description

As part of the larger Advanced Analytics & Insights (AAI) department, the Decision Sciences team draws on the dynamic advertising technology space, digital and offline analytics, and evolving methodologies to address complex research and measurement challenges across Starcom client brands.

The Decision Science Director is a senior leader who develops innovative measurement and analytics approaches that drive the client’s business forward.  The DS Director helps to lead a team dedicated to creating best-in-class media, brand, and web analytics and transforming strategic insights into powerful stories.  The Director needs to provide strong perspective and ongoing analysis of specific business data as well as the broader media marketplace to identify opportunities for both the client and the agency as a whole.  He or she will interact with senior media, strategy and analytics clients leading high level strategic, data-backed discussions and providing strong action-oriented recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and manage innovative website analytic solutions

  • Define best in class site analytics and reporting approach using Adobe Analytics Product Suite
  • Lead the analysis and enhancement of client Adobe Analytics instance
  • Collaborate with client website and analytics teams to gain a deep knowledge of business goals and challenges
  • Define website KPIs and build frameworks that capture site performance, inform site optimizations, and influence future plans
  • Define structure and use of UTM and Evars to accurately capture site visits
  • Mine client website data sets for insights and application
  • Advise client on best practices around website functionality
  • QA and Troubleshoot site pathing and data flows

Provide research leadership for clients and the internal team

  • Pioneer innovative approaches to address complex research and measurement challenges
  • Develop POV, papers, and journal articles to publish and present
  • Evaluate and recommend data partners to solve key questions
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate direct reports

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in web analytics and business consulting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in statistics, engineering, marketing, advertising or business, economics
  • Robust experience with design, implementation and analysis of Adobe Analytics client instances
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Expertise in interrogation and application of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data sets
  • Working knowledge of statistical software packages and coding languages (SAS, SPSS, R, Python, Advanced Excel)
  • Experience leading and developing growth of other team members
