Job Description

The planning team at Spark is the heart of the agency, in terms of its function, its people and its location.

As Strategic Planning Manager working on a large, high profile retail account, you will be at the forefront of understanding the context of the brand, category and consumer leading to clear strategic guidelines and innovations for our biggest client. With the support of the wider planning team, you will have the opportunity to work on various projects in a fast paced environment working with one of the largest brands in the UK.

The role of Strategic Planning Manager is key to the continual evolution of our award winning campaigns.  The understanding of context and continual analysis of how consumption patterns emerge is fundamental to effective and innovative campaign creation.  This role allows an individual to work across teams at pace, gaining invaluable experience in a category dominated by change.  Our 3 service mantras for success sum up the role: pace, accuracy and innovation.

As a Planning Manager working on a large, high profile account, you will be at the forefront of innovation. With the support of your Business Director and Account Director, you will have the opportunity to own various projects in a fast paced environment.

You will be planning across all ATL channels, working closely with investment teams to activate campaigns as well as collaborating with our data and analytics specialists. The client is industry leading in terms of their innovative outlook for the next year, so it will be an exciting journey for you to be taken on.

Qualifications

 

Alongside the media planning aspect of your role, you will be working closely with investment and strategy teams to develop and explore new platforms and technology, thinking of new approaches you and the client can use with their data. You will be helping the client move away from their previous strategies towards media and help them become more data driven in their approach.

 

You will have an Account Executive to manage and mentor, and will work in a large team of comms planners, so will be surrounded by industry leading support.

 

You will have had strong experience in comms planning with knowledge of all media channels, including digital, also have worked with test & learn methods. You will have worked on a large client (in terms of billings), and have experience managing multiple projects in a busy environment. An interest in innovation and development in the marketplace.

 

You must have excellent attention to detail, dealing with huge budgets and tracking them effectively through the finance systems requires precision. Great relationship building skills will be needed as you will be navigating around the vast investment team to ensure campaigns are activated on time and on budget.
