Purpose of the role

A creative who is passionate about strategy & media as a whole; someone who is eager to share his / her ideas and to learn, MORE; understand the client’s business (strategic) objectives, with his / her digital knowledge and marketing skills to produce the best strategic results in accordance with the client’s brief

TTL Strategist on Distell (50%):

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Work with the Senior TTL Strategists on the Distell Account – collate the annual integrated media strategies for the brands in the portfolio and manage the process from briefing to client presentations & reverts
  • Continually raise the strategic standard/levels ensuring constant evolution and innovation
  • Drive integration between traditional and digital media
  • Attend client status meetings
  • Provide clear briefs to the implementation team (ATL planner and the Ad Operations Team)
  • Oversee and manage the Distell Brands allocated to you in your portfolio
  • Work closely with the internal teams, the Distell Brand Managers, and the Distell Media Team
  • Ensure billing packs are completed on-time and are correct (monthly) for the Media Buyers

Digital Strategist/Planner on the smaller accounts in the portfolio which are Nedgroup (10%), Luxottica (10%) and Gumtree (10%)

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Develop the digital media strategies and digital flow-plans for Nedgroup, Luxottica and Gumtree
  • Be the day-to-day key client contact on these Brands
  • Manage and produce quality work in in line with:
    • Agency processes
    • Global tools and processes
  • Produce clear, innovative integrated media strategies
  • Produce digital media flow-plans
  • Deliver solid implementation planning briefs to the ATL planner and Ad Operations Teams
  • Be the day-to-day client contact on the smaller brands in the portfolio – Nedgroup / Luxottica and Gumtree - in addition to delivering the required digital media strategies and flow-plans on these accounts
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies
  • Potentially assist with developing other strategists in the team or wider Publicis Groupe
  • Assist with adhoc clients/work where necessary
  • Assist the Cape Town Media Cluster Lead on any New Business requests

Qualifications

Qualifications / Experience / Skills

  • A relevant tertiary qualification Advertising / Digital Marketing
  • A minimum of 5-8 years’ experience as a Media Strategist with 2 years in an Advertising Agency
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint)
  • Experience in both TTL & Digital
  • Solid understanding of paid digital media (fully versed and able to present a strategy and flow-plan for digital media)
  • Excellent understanding of all planning and buying processes
  • Social media and tech savvy (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • A good commend of the English language (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills (able to work on more than one brief at any given time)
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
