Job Description

A creator, a leader in the making, and a strategic thinker. Works closely with the CD, creative team, and cross-functional team to help give direction (copy and art) of a specific book of business. This position requires experience across a broadrange of disciplines, mediums, and channels (in-store display, out-of- store, digital, content creation, etc.). Must be able tobalance playing up to help direct the team and work and play down to do the work. Shows passion for visual storytelling and design aesthetics. Responsible for growing and fostering direct reports. Demonstrates a dedication, persistence, andpassion for relevant, groundbreaking ideas for our shoppers, brands, and retailers. A master in the craft.

MANAGES Oversees and coaches the creatives that will support your projects(s). Keeps the team focused and on-task.

COMMUNICATION Must be proactive, collaborative, organized, and an excellent communicator — internally and externally.

FEARLESSNESS Works with the CD to push the work forward with what’s best for the team, the company, andclients in mind. Has straight talk with others in order to resolve situations head-on. Presents ideas to the CD andhelps sell the team’s ideas. Lives in the realm of possibility and takes action on what’s missing.

Day to Day

  • Provides creative concepting and thought leadership to elevate and innovate the work
  • Leads the team and the work when the CD is out or unavailable (with help from other creative leaders when needed)
  • Organizes creative team meetings and leads internal creative reviews for practice before client presentations
  • Acts as a leader on the business in team and client meetings
  • Works with the CD to build effective client presentation decks that tell a stories of the work
  • Stays on top of revision orders and delegates to teammates in a timely manner
  • Approves tactics on day-to-day deliverables (aligned with the CD)
  • Makes sure all work goes through proofing and that the files are built properly and transfered on time
  • Has cross-functional one-on-one meetings with team leads
  • Co-leads inspiring brainstorms and able to independently lead when needed
  • Has consistent one-on-one meetings and growth planning with direct reports and holds them accountable
  • Covers cross-functional team status meetings and communicates next steps back to the team while helping them prioritize
  • Attends kickoffs and is able to give the team clear direction
  • Works with traffic and the CD to help the team flow to the work
  • Participates in new business pitches, workshops, and creation of strategic solutions for growing our clients’ business (e.g., SSX’s Blueprint for Growth)

Qualifications

Demonstrable experience in generating ideas at an award-winning level. Managerial experience is a must. Proficient in file management, time management and organization, and a pro at graphic software (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, andInDesign). A master of typography, color, and design principles.

College degree is preferred; however, competency is evaluated based on body of work.
