Job Description

As a Technical Analyst in the Data Sciences team your role is instrumental to the delivery of products to the business and our clients. These scaled data products are key to our business to add value and help transform what we do and how we do it.

You’ll use your influential communication style and incomparable technical skills to run workshops translating business requirements in to functional documentation. This will require detailed analysis and an ability to challenge thinking.

Working hands on with the technical teams, offshore and 3rd parties you’ll use detailed knowledge of the SDLC to support the build of products for the business. This will include reviewing test scripts, as well as assisting with functional / user acceptance testing, training users, and helping with vendor selection.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of running workshops to gather business requirements from end users and stakeholders, including the ability to challenge appropriately
  • Background of working with complex web based data driven or BI solutions from inception to delivery
  • Accomplished at translating business requirements in to functional documentation
  • Experience in liaising with Technologists, and Project Managers both on and offshore to provide clarity of the brief  
  • Ability to review test scripts against application functionality and performance criteria
  • In depth knowledge of the full SDLC, ideally working on complex data products.
  • Drawing up cost and time line proposals for solutions
  • Good understanding of SQL databases and able to write SQL to analyse data 

We also provide training across a range of areas to support your growth and learning, these include; BI tools including Tableau, Birst and Datorama, as well as MS Project, Excel, JIRA and TFS.

Additional Information

You will initially be working on our METEOR programme. This is a key to our business transformation and focuses on data automation and reporting. This is a significant investment for our business and the scope of work includes automating a large array of disparate data sources to turn it into readily available, easily digestible information for our clients.
