Job Description

The Supervisor, Data & Platform Solutions will provide data leadership and guidance by applying expertise in how to implement and leverage audience data (and audience-based planning, investment and activation) to make timely, smarter media decisions and succeed in the cross-device, people-driven marketing era.

The Supervisor, Data & Platform Solutions will be ultimately responsible for implementing data strategy at the outset of each engagement, allowing Zenith to set a playbook for how data should be deployed and operationalized for a given client.

The Supervisor, Data & Platform Solutions will guide clients through platform selection and deployment, determine who in the organization gets access to which insights and help clients navigate data partnerships and deals. The Supervisor will also help clients plug gaps in their data stacks by helping build custom tools for additional reporting and advanced analytics.

Collaboration and connection are at the core of our business success, and the Supervisor, Data & Platform Solutions will work closely with key stakeholders within the media planning, investment and activations teams to understand and translate the client objectives into actionable data applications through the Data Management Platform (DMP) relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client data management platform (DMP) set up projects
  • Manage day to day relationship with client DMP
  • Establish/maintain a schema to keep hierarchical organization of marketing data signals, traits, and segments organized and actionable
  • Create audience segments to support targeted media campaigns
  • Utilize the data within the DMP to combine traits into segments to create audiences for digital targeting
  • Help craft tests and testing methodology to optimize learnings and performance of digital channels
  • Be able to create reporting templates and communicate complex findings in simple and engaging ways
  • Provide support around Digital Media Analytics, cross-channel customer engagement, testing and audience management to a variety of clients
  • Develop media testing and targeting strategies with custom analysis
  • Develop measurement roadmaps and strategy
  • Prepare data strategy presentation and drive integration in media plan focused on audience details 
  • Lead weekly media meetings with clients/internal teams and providing insight into audience insights and results
  • Lead client presentations                   
  • Facilitate day-to-day data operations across all 3rd-party data platforms
  • Help clients launch and improve data and audience based technology solutions across display, video, social, mobile and all offline media
  • Guide and drive use of audience data to impact media strategies for clients based on overall objectives
  • Manage day to day client relationships focused on data
  • Act as resource to demonstrate agency knowledge of digital strategies
  • Build and maintain relationships with data and technology vendors and internal agency counterparts
  • Oversee, author and/or constructively edit and review the writing of media documents (timelines, POVs, RFPs, plans, agreements, client memos, and correspondence from within and outside the agency)
  • Integrate with the Media Planning team to make data management a central tool for smarter planning and media decisions
  • Managing the process of defining audiences to be leveraged, sharing of data with partners, and tracking and compiling performance reports regarding audience groups
  • Maintaining knowledge of current DMP/Programmatic media trends and provide training to Zenith employees when necessary
  • Interface with digital agency partners to deliver requests, convey analytic approach, prioritize projects, and set clear expectations across teams
  • Communicate deliverable feedback to analytics and media agency
  • Help drive analytics strategy with media tests
  • Continue to develop new data integrations into DMP and marketing ecosystem to enhance audience creation capabilities
  • Troubleshoot new data partners and ensure successful integrations
  • Help improve our Operations workflow through the development of new processes and best practices

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in digital planning or ad/mar technology experience, preferably from a technology company or media agency or trading desk background
  • Minimum 2+ years of team management (with direct reports)
  • Strong background in interactive work: DSPs, DMPs, third party audience data, OLV cross screen, data and analytics, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with popular Data Management Platform (DMP), Marketing Cloud experience and sell-side ad technologies; i.e. DFP, Oracle BlueKai, Adobe, Nielsen Exelate, Neustar, Krux, Lotame, Sizmek Rocket Fuel, AdX, Rubicon, etc.
  • Knowledge of open market data providers; i.e. Acxiom, Datalogix, eXelate, Experian, etc.
  • Experience with advertising and agency ecosystem in television, digital, and mobile, inclusive of technology platforms, available data sources and methods of executing data-driven campaigns
  • Experience with campaign management/ad serving technology (i.e. Double Click DART, Atlas DMT, Rich Media Partners)
  • Experience leveraging audience data to make strategic investment and communication decisions
  • Working knowledge of third party digital research:  comScore Media Metrix, Nielsen NetView, @Plan, NetRatings, etc.
  • Experience working with ad/mar technologies like:
    • Ad Servers & Exchanges (Google/Doubleclick, The Trade Desk, Innovid, Sizmek, etc.)
    • Web Analytics (Google Analytics, IBM Analytics, Adobe/Omniture Analytics, etc.)
  • High attention to detail, and good organizational skills, with an understanding of optimization levers & testing approaches across programmatic platforms
  • Strong emphasis on audience-based buying, audience data management and segmentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and an ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents
  • Build and maintain trusting collaborative relationships with team members, clients and vendors
  • Experience presenting to team members and clients of differing levels of seniority and job functions
  • Strong (end-to-end) project management, time management (i.e. experience managing multiple, competing priorities, duties and/or projects), execution, organizational, negotiation and planning skills
  • Solid quantitative / analytical skills (with ability to mine data and articulate trends and insight) and proven data interpretation capabilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PPT and Excel (have the ability to sort, analyze, import, export, clean data, work with pivot tables, and know how to do V and H lookups, etc.)
  • Strong leadership, guiding cross functional staff
  • Able to work autonomously or with minimal direction
  • Must be a self-starter
