Position Description:
The SQL Report Writer/Data Analyst will provide information from existing data sources, using a variety of reporting tools.
There is a wide range of software from very old versions to newer.
Travel to other company locations will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Provide standard and ad-hoc reporting, including key performance indicator (KPI) reporting, metrics definition and data collection to support KPIs; creation and maintenance of reports and Dashboards.
- Manage data to support reporting, including the creation and maintenance of databases, through the use of Microsoft Access, MS SQL Server 2008, SSRS/SSIS, Visual Basic, Visual Studio, Crystal Reports, and others.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of related experience with database administration and Report Writing.
- Proficient skills and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, T-SQL, Windows Server, Shell scripting, and utilities.
- SSRS/SSIS proficiency is required
- Experience with SQL Server tuning and optimization, Database Administration, Database Tuning, Database Management, Database Security.
- Relational application design and development experience.
- Building cubes from new and existing data sources.
- Experience with SQL Server in a clustered VMware environment is desirable.
- Ability to properly manage time and work loads in an environment that consistently provides distractions and diversions without close supervision.
- Experience designing and implementing multidimensional and normalized data models.
- Ability to establish ODBC connections between different types of databases and platforms
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Access skills
- Crystal Reports
- IBM Cognos
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to communicate with people at all levels, strong interpersonal skills, and superior organizational skills.
- Must have excellent customer service skills; willing to provide support after normal business hours as needed.
- Valid Driver’s license
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Progress databases and Visual Cyberquery (VCQ) a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
