Provide services and support as a Construction/Industrial Hygiene Functional Area Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Safety Professional (KIEWIT202609IH104) under Labor Category: Health and Safety Specialist at Savannah River Site / Aiken, South Carolina. Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Safety Professional - Construction/Industrial Hygiene (KIEWIT202609IH104) will work collaboratively as a Contract Consultant on the ProSidian Engagement Team. Dedicated Planned Labor Hours (DPLH) of 1250 Straight Time (ST) Estimated Annual Quantity (Hrs. Per Yr.) | 0 Overtime Time (OT) Estimated Annual Quantity (Hrs. Per Yr.). This is a Labor Hour Subcontract or Contract W-2 (IRS-1099) position, and ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a Full-Time ProSidian employed W-2 Position. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES - Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Safety Professional - Construction/Industrial Hygiene (KIEWIT202609IH104)
- Serve as a Contract Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) / Safety Professional to support construction activities at the U.S. Department of Energy's Savannah River Site (SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina. This client-facing role is with ProSidian and supports Kiewit within its Contractor-Controlled Construction Zone. It is not a direct employment position with Kiewit, and the work area is not a standalone Kiewit facility.
- The anticipated engagement supports construction and buildout of the High-Fidelity Training and Operations Center (HFTOC), a 103,000-square-foot, non-nuclear training facility supporting the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF). The HFTOC will use surrogate materials, like-for-like equipment, and simulated radiological controls to prepare future operators for production, maintenance, material-handling, safety, and emergency-response activities before the SRPPF Main Process Building becomes operational.
- The project involves demolishing and replacing concrete flooring, modifying the building's interior and exterior, and installing ventilation, process-gas, and electrical systems. It also includes procuring, installing, integrating, testing, and commissioning a high-fidelity production line, along with a material-characterization laboratory, receipt-inspection laboratory, salt-processing training line, balance-of-plant systems, and supporting utilities.
- The CIH will combine expertise in occupational health science, construction safety leadership, regulatory adherence, contractor oversight, and risk management to prevent injuries, illnesses, releases, property damage, and operational incidents. The role demands regular on-site presence, meticulous documentation, sound technical judgment, and strong coordination with ProSidian, Kiewit, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), DOE/NNSA representatives, subcontractors, occupational medicine, and site industrial hygiene, safety, emergency management, and radiological control teams.

Integrated Safety and Industrial Hygiene Responsibilities
- Serve as a dedicated, on-site ProSidian Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene Professional Supporting Kiewit's HFTOC construction activities.
- Implement and continuously improve applicable elements of the project Safety Management System, Worker Protection Plan, industrial-hygiene program, and Integrated Safety Management requirements.
- Maintain visible field presence and partner with project leadership, superintendents, supervisors, craft personnel, and subcontractors to plan and execute work safely.
- Participate in constructability reviews, work-package planning, daily coordination meetings, pre-job briefings, safety meetings, plan-of-the-day meetings, and readiness reviews.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), work packages, permits, procedures, and pre-task plans for completeness, technical adequacy, changing conditions, and appropriate controls.
- Verify that hazards are identified and controlled before work begins and that controls remain effective throughout execution.
- Exercise stop-work responsibility and immediately elevate imminent-danger, uncontrolled-hazard, or noncompliant conditions in accordance with project procedures and delegated authority.
- Conduct and document routine field inspections, worker observations, housekeeping inspections, and compliance assessments; communicate deficiencies and track corrective actions to closure.
- Interpret and apply applicable provisions of 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926, 10 CFR Part 851, DOE requirements, SRS procedures, consensus standards, contractual requirements, and project-specific plans.
- Support event reporting, fact-finding, causal analysis, lessons learned, corrective-action development, and verification of corrective-action effectiveness.
- Prepare accurate, timely, and defensible records, reports, dashboards, trend analyses, and management briefings.
- Coordinate safety and health requirements across subcontractors and ensure consistent communication to affected workers.
- Protect sensitive project and personnel information and maintain records in accordance with site document-control, records-management, and quality-assurance requirements.
Education / Experience Requirements / Qualifications
Standard Qualifications
- Active CIH certification issued by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing for CIH-designated work; active CSP certification issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals for CSP-designated work. Both credentials are required when one individual is assigned both scopes.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible construction field safety, industrial hygiene, or integrated EHS experience, with demonstrated responsibility for high-hazard work.
- Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, nuclear, power, chemical, defense, or federal construction projects.
- Thorough working knowledge of 29 CFR Parts 1910 and 1926 and 10 CFR Part 851.
- Working knowledge of hazard identification, exposure assessment, hierarchy of controls, contractor safety, incident investigation, emergency planning, and corrective-action management.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, safety data sheets, work packages, sampling data, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working independently in the field while coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, coaching, facilitation, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Ability to maintain certification, training, medical, respirator-use, site-access, and other qualification requirements throughout the assignment.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to satisfy DOE, SRS, SRNS, Kiewit, and ProSidian background screening, badging, drug-testing, fitness-for-duty, and site-access requirements.

Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, environmental health, engineering, chemistry, biology, physics, public health, or a closely related scientific or technical discipline.
- An advanced degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, safety engineering, environmental health, or a related discipline is preferred.
