Job Description
ProSidian Seeks an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Project Controls Specialist - Hanford Site Technical SupportLocated In Richland, WA 99319to support engagement for the DOE Office of River Protection (ORP) - an independent office at the DOE Site in eastern Washington state with the exclusive focus of remediating and solving the DOE’s tank cleanup challenges. ORP’s mission is to protect the Columbia River by safely cleaning up radioactive and chemical waste contained in underground storage tanks located at the DOE Site.
Provide Site Technical Support Services assistance including technical support services in environmental remediation, and related technical and administrative program management support expertise and assistance in carrying out responsibilities to plan, direct and oversee design, construction, environmental remediation, cleanup and operation of government facilities to support ORP at Hanford in the Eastern Washington (Tri-Cities - Kennewick | Pasco | Richland) Area.

Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Project Controls Specialist - Hanford Site Technical Support Candidates shall work to support requirements for ORP Site Technical Support Services and provide critical Project Controls functions to support the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning of the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) Project’s Low Activity Waste (LAW), Balance of Facilities (BOF), and Laboratory (LAB) facilities. Support functions will also be provided to the emerging Direct Feed LAW (DFLAW) initiative and to the LBL Facility Services control account.
DOE’s Direct Feed Low Activity Waste (DFLAW) approach for the Hanford tank waste treatment mission approach involves the WTP Low Activity Waste (LAW) Facility, Analytical Laboratory (LAB) and a set of 23 support facilities, collectively known as Balance of Facilities (BOF). Together, these three areas are commonly referred to as “LBL.”Analyze the project baseline, monthly reporting data, and proposed baseline changes and trends.
Utilize skills and abilities to develop and maintain a reporting database that captures Contractor Performance Reporting (CPR) data.
- Exhibit exceptional knowledge of Excel and high-end Excel features, including functions and pivot tables.
- Exhibit combined depth of knowledge in the field of project controls, action tracking,
- Exhibit capacity for independently developing strong, transparent, and trusting working relationships with Hanford Site business partners.
- The interface between DOE-ORP and its business partners and contractors.
- Exhibit ability to visualize, analyze, and convert current performance challenges into accurate future projections that can be confidently used to initiate productive dialogue with Contractor aimed at establishing effective mitigation actions.
- Exhibit ability to support Hanford programs and project status, baseline, key challenges, Change control process and procedures, scope and critical milestones.
- Exhibit ability to support Hanford Program project controls analysis; support baseline- integrity/vulnerability assessment analysis and mitigation; support change proposal review and analysis; support unplanned and improvised project controls; support critical external oversight events; assessment and surveillance support; review invoice evaluations.
- Preferences are given for readily applicable expertise, however consideration will be given to ability to obtain and apply skills.
Qualifications
- The Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Project Controls Specialist - Hanford Site Technical Support shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years,
- Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
Education – BS/BA degree in engineering, science, or business management.. | Experience – Fourteen (14) years of directly applicable successful experience and supported by past performance. U.S Citizenship.
Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.
Positions require appropriate technical competency in writing, editing, and analytical writing or similar skills, the following shall be applicable to all, including:
- Abilities for editing, formatting, Microsoft Office, Excel, digital technical support, Adobe Acrobat, Office Timeline, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat support to the entire ORP staff.
- Support will also include classifying and summarizing information for needed and specific briefings and reports for preparation and submittal and coordinating and ensuring other organizations are kept apprised of current information.
TRAVEL:
- Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, events, site visits, or other training requirements.
- Travel is coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the Contracting Officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
