Job Description
Internal Communications Manager duties and responsibilities:
THIS IS A VOLUNTEER UNPAID POSITION
Create and implement enterprise-wide and audience-specific communications primarily for spanning various topics and align the messages to our growth strategy, ambition, and values.
Drive the continuous improvement of internal content
Update and maintain Passion for Life’s intranet
Provide communications counsel to Passion for Life team leaders and key stakeholders
Recommend and implement new and innovative communication methods
Actively contribute fresh, outside-in thinking to ways we build awareness and understanding of Passion for Life organizational information.
Improve volunteer connectivity and engagement
Qualifications
Internal Communications requirements
Associates degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
3-5 years experience in one or more of the following areas; managing/writing at an agency or in a corporate/nonprofit environment, content development, public relations
Proficient in Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
Copy writing and content management experience
Leading, collaborating with, and managing a team
Self-starter willing to take initiative and own projects
Demonstrates effectiveness in meetings and task forces
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization (both internal and external)
Excellent storytelling, written and verbal communication skills
Effective project management and time management skills are critical
Ensure fulfillment of the mission of the organization
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Communications, or related field
Experience in content marketing for a non-profit organization
Knowledge of web design

Estimated time commitment
Relaunching a brand and marketing strategy from the bottom up is a daunting, but rewarding, task that demands a lot of upfront time investment. With that in mind, the ideal candidate will be willing to not only meet the required time commitments outlined below but will also communicate, without hesitation, if the scope of work exceeds the estimated time allotted. Open and honest communication will be essential to help us grow a successful and sustainable marketing team and resources we need.
Estimated time commitment: 8-10 hours/week depending on needs, including
Monthly meetings
Weekly conference calls
Busiest period: work is consistent throughout the school year
Term limit: 6-12 month commitment
