Job Description

The Passion for Life, Inc. Board ensures that the organization is fiscally responsible, accountable and sustainable.  One of the primary roles of the Board is to assist with fundraising for the operating budget of the organization and to leverage network and contacts for the furthering of the organization's mission.

 

In addition to board responsibilities, the Fundraising Committee Chair will lead and develop the Fundraising Team. The Chair will work in partnership with the Fundraising committee and the Board of Directors to serve as a liaison to the team for driving fund development to serve the Atlanta community.

The Fundraising Committee Chair will oversee the following:

 

●       Strategic Leadership and Planning: Work in conjunction with the board and committee to develop and maintain a fundraising development and management strategy.  Will also lead a collaborative team of up to 5 committee members to ideate, prioritize, develop and implement a comprehensive strategy with fundraising targets and a diverse mix of funding sources.

●       Development: Responsible for building a team that will focus on the creation and development of a one to three-year fundraising plan.  Will also be tasked with partnering with the Finance Committee in developing effective administrative systems to track grants and donations.

●       Implementation:  Leads and provides guidance to the Fundraising committee with the execution of fundraising strategies and campaigns, implementation of plans, education of committees / volunteers and all organization stakeholders.

o   Execute fundraising campaigns

o   Research and identify sources of funding s from a diverse mix of sources (grants, corporate, individuals, etc.)

o   Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors including identification, cultivation and solicitation of major donors.

o   Developing and tracking proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

o   Coordinate and execute grant writing, and grant proposal development and execution

o   Lead donor communications - email, direct mail, social media, phone calls, in person meetings and presentations in cooperation with the Marketing / Communications Committee.

o   Support stakeholders in the execution of annual funding plans and initiatives

o   Lead gift processing and record management

Qualifications

●       Passion and commitment to the organization’s mission and strategic directions

●     Prior experience and proven track record in fundraising and grants management

●     Advanced project management skills

●     Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

●     Budget Administration experience

●     Experience securing cash or gift-in-kind donations from donors

●     Comfortable delegating work projects while maintaining oversight

●     Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders

●     Prior non-profit board experience preferred

●       Direct Leadership experience preferred

●       Volunteer and / or non-profit management experience preferred

Additional Information

●     Monthly board meetings (2 hours)

●     Participate in committee meetings and related work (2-4 hours per month as determined by the committee)

●     Identify, linking other individuals and resources; meeting with potential donors/funders (3 hours monthly)

●     Attend Passion for Life, Inc. fundraising events and program functions (3-5 annually)
