Job Description
Your Career
We are seeking a Staff Repair Engineer to join our team. This is a senior-level technical role responsible for driving the strategy and execution of our product repair program. You will serve as the primary technical liaison between our engineering teams and service operations, ensuring our products are designed for optimal serviceability and that our repair processes are efficient, reliable, and scalable. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong background in product development, quality assurance, and hands-on technical analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Strategy & Process Development:
- Lead the development of design for serviceability and repair guidelines for new products, ensuring service requirements are incorporated early in the design phase.
- Create and document comprehensive repair procedures, test plans, and troubleshooting guides for technicians.
- Develop and implement training programs to enable the repair team to execute complex repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Engineering Change Management:
- Manage the implementation of all service-related engineering changes, ensuring seamless integration into the repair workflow.
- Develop and execute validation plans to confirm that product changes meet all service and repair requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage part availability and disposition for new and revised components.
- Problem-Solving & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of product failures and repair data to identify systemic design or manufacturing issues.
- Provide actionable technical feedback and recommendations to design, test, and manufacturing teams to improve product reliability and serviceability.
- Lead root cause analysis efforts on complex technical issues, driving them to resolution.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to optimize the entire product lifecycle from design to end-of-life service.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to technicians and management.
- Influence and drive key technical decisions by presenting clear data and technical documentation.
Qualifications
Your Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field).
- 8+ years of experience in a technical role, such as hardware, test, or manufacturing engineering.
- Proven expertise in technical problem-solving and root cause analysis for complex systems.
- Demonstrated experience in process development and documentation.
- Experience managing engineering change processes within a product lifecycle.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills, with a track record of creating clear, comprehensive documentation and training materials.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical teams without direct authority.
- A strong passion for understanding and improving how products are serviced.
Additional Information
Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $129,000 - $193,000/YR.
