Your Career
If you have a passion for helping employees feel connected to a meaningful mission, fantastic leaders, industry-leading products, this is the role for you. In this role, you will partner closely with stakeholders from across the business to meticulously plan and execute communication and change management plans that help keep employees informed, engaged and excited! Some of the key programs you’ll be taking the lead on include our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) communication efforts, and the closely relatedInclusion and Diversity (I&D) and Social Impact (corporate philanthropy and employee engagement) programs. In addition to these, you may work on global process updates, organization updates, and planning and executing the communication for large internal events and meetings across various corporate functions. You do not need to be a subject matter expert in these areas - having the underlying communication skill and ability to express ideas is what we are looking for.
Your Impact
While no two days will look the same, the superpowers you bring to our team will be used non-stop! Here are some of the areas you’ll help shape, message, and create:
- Lead the implementation of the employee communications strategy for ESG,I&D, and Social Impact providing thought partnership to the CoE leads - This includes key messages, tactics, channels and measurement of these communications
- Plan, create and execute content moments in collaboration with our employer brand experts to bring the stories of our ESG, I&D and Social Impact efforts to future employees (through social content, careers website content and corporate website updates)
- Develop and maintain a content calendar for ESG, I&D, and Social Impact to ensure that internal communications are timely, relevant and aligned with key company events/milestones and external communications as needed
- Write and edit short and long-form highly visible content, including emails, talking points, articles and scripts, ensuring a consistent and compelling narrative that aligns to audience needs
- Lead the employee narrative for the Palo Alto Networks ESG,I&D and Social Impact strategy and efforts – including promotion of our cultural recognition moments, I&D learning programs, inclusive business practices, community impact and digital equity efforts, and assist with social crises response
- Partner with G&A functions on key initiatives - examples of this could include things like the rollout of our employee co-pilot (Panda AI!), announcements of new programs coming out of finance
- Create and deliver/manage employee communications content to be delivered through channels including but not limited to email, newsletters, intranet, digital signage, Slack and more that align to the overall employee communications strategy
- Be able to articulate change management plans and measure success of changes like employee adoption of new processes and tools, use of new programs, or new behaviors established - Bring our values to life across all communications you prepare
- Prepare metrics reports and show ROI on the communication channels you’re choosing to use
- Be active in identifying gaps and proposing pilots or solutions to fill them - we are an iterative team who love to pioneer new ways to connect with employees!
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in internal communications
Qualifications
Your Experience
- 8+ years of relevant experience in strategic communication planning, program communication management or change management
- Ability and passion for writing and editing with a human touch
- A thoughtful and detailed planner, you let no detail go unnoticed or unexplored when it comes to landing your key messages and winning the hearts and minds of employees
- Disruptive thinker - how can we do things differently, and have the skills to help influence others to try (we love trying!)
- Comfortable working with data and insights to help us continue to engage employees in meaningful ways
- Familiarity with employee communication/marketing tools (LumApps, Slack, Workshop, employee advocacy, etc.)
- Comfort working on multiple initiatives with competing deadlines - and the ability to land each plan with precision and flawless execution
- You thrive on having the trust of your leader and high autonomy to deliver your best work
- Ability to fluidly navigate between strategy and execution (can develop high-level strategic plans and also produce crisp, clear communications)
- This role is based at our HQ office in Santa Clara

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $128000 - $207000/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
