Job Description

PA has been at the forefront of drug delivery device development for over 35 years, serving a global client base of pharma, biotech and device OEMs. PA’s drug delivery team operates globally from its offices in the UK, US and Ireland.

We are seeking a Client Engagement Manager to drive growth across Drug Delivery and Medical Device clients, with a focus on US and European markets. This role is responsible for building senior level relationships, identifying high value opportunities, and advancing them through the early stages of the sales pipeline.

This is a growth-oriented role that requires strong industry credibility, deep understanding of regulated product development, and the ability to connect client challenges with PA’s design, engineering, and science capabilities. While digital and data capabilities may support client solutions, this role is fundamentally focused on drug delivery and medical device innovation. This role is specifically focused on building new business with:

  • Device OEM and pharma clients looking to develop new drug delivery systems, including injection systems, inhalation devices and wearables
  • Pharma and biotech clients who are developing new drug-device combination products, including those leveraging platforms from third party OEMs

In this role, you will be responsible to:

  • Develop and execute account plans for a prioritized set of drug delivery clients
  • Identify, qualify, and progress new business opportunities related to drug delivery systems, combination products, and medical devices
  • Build and maintain senior client relationships across R&D, Product Development, Engineering, Clinical, and Commercial leadership
  • Lead early discovery conversations and shape opportunities prior to formal pursuit
  • Position PA’s capabilities in design, engineering, human factors, systems engineering, and regulatory support
  • Partner with Principals, technical experts, and delivery teams to transition qualified opportunities into active pursuits
  • Manage early stage pipeline activity in CRM, including stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking
  • Represent PA at key industry events throughout the year
  • Provide ongoing market and competitive insights to inform proposition development and growth strategy

Qualifications

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Deep industry experience and network within drug delivery devices
  • Proven experience in business development, consulting sales, or client leadership roles
  • Strong understanding of regulated product development and lifecycle management
  • Experience selling engineering, product development, R&D, or technical consulting services
  • Ability to engage credibly with senior technical and commercial stakeholders
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and opportunity shaping skills

Preferred Experience

  • Background in design and engineering consultancy, or life sciences product development
  • Experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder pursuits
  • Ability to translate technical challenges into compelling business value propositions

Additional Information

Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week. However, the actual time you spend and where you spend it will vary by role or assignment, including up to 5 days per week on a client site

In compliance with Colorado’s, New York’s, Illinois’s, & Massachusetts's Equal Pay Transparency Act, PA is required to provide a reasonable salary range for this role.  This salary range is specific to Massachusetts, New York, and Illinois and is commensurate with experience, market data, applicant skills, internal equity and/or degrees/certifications.  Salary Range: $150,000 - 180,000 USD.
