Job Description
As a Solutions Architect for Migrations and Modernization, you will play a pivotal role in helping organizations transition to the cloud to achieve maximum value from cloud technologies. This position offers a blend of innovative design, thought leadership, and hands-on involvement through the customer journey. You will be instrumental in shaping impactful solutions that not only meet but exceed customer expectations. The successful candidate for this position will evangelize the benefits of cloud services to drive continuous, iterative improvement to assist the customer in achieving their business initiatives. They will identify new opportunities, creatively participate in the development and sales of solutions, and actively assist the Sales Executives, fellow Solutions Architects, and Service Delivery Managers in solving customer problems.
Job Requirements
Assist Sales Executives, Service Delivery Managers, and other Solutions Architects in pre-sales activities as a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Scope cloud migration projects, helping clients transition from on-premises or legacy environments to the cloud using best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization.
Perform initial whiteboard sessions with customers defining migration strategies, including re-hosting, re-platforming, and refactoring applications to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
Deep familiarity with cloud provider funding programs and strong ability to convey the programs to customers and the benefits.
Conduct Well-Architected Framework Reviews (WAFR) to assess and optimize cloud environments against the six pillars.
Collaborate with internal and customer teams to develop data migration strategies, ensuring smooth transfer of databases, applications, and workloads to AWS.
Develop customer facing demos of cloud technologies to solve for specific, defined use cases.
Comfortable meeting with peers at cloud providers to evangelize Ollion Solutions, capabilities, and customer successes.
Work closely with the presales team to support technical discussions and develop cloud modernization proposals that clearly articulate the value creation and form a sense of urgency to activate.
Assist in preparing TCO analysis as part of assessments to build the business case for customers to justify Ollion delivering the proposed services
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in cloud technologies and be able to articulate the value to customers when asked about them.
Become intimately familiar with the process, steps, tools, and methods, Ollion undertakes when delivering Services to a customer’s cloud environment
Draft the initial Statement of Work detailing the scope of services to be delivered along with required time and resources.
Proactively identify cross-sales opportunities for supported ISV solutions
Assist other Solutions Architects and Sales Executives with the completion of Requests for Proposals (RFP’s)
Work collaboratively with the Head of Presales, Managing Director, and Marketing in the creation of collateral to support the sales process. This includes contributing content for developing sales presentations, client facing presentations, blogs, data sheets and additional materials which would accelerate sales and pipeline development
Collaborate with Leadership, Sales Executives, Solutions Architects, and Service Delivery Managers on opportunities to enhance the offerings through providing client use cases and requests to make strategic recommendations for future solutions
Evangelize Ollion Solutions and capabilities across the cloud computing community and on social media platforms
May require up to 50% travel
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Cloud Technologies, specific focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Should possess general familiarity of comparable services and features across all three major CSPs (GCP, AWS and Azure) as needed.
Experience with end customer service delivery through Professional Services Engagements and Managed Services Provider (MSP)
Experience working in customer facing roles, supporting pre-sales discussions, and translating business requirements into cloud solutions.
Experience with high level application portfolio analysis and discovery to determine application migration and modernization paths
Strong understanding of cloud technology solutions such as foundational architectures, cloud networking, cloud security, DevOps practices, as well as open-source technologies
Demonstrable experience in defining and assuring the time estimation to perform infrastructure related tasks
Demonstrable skills and expertise with cloud architecture best practices and thought leadership in their practical application.
Experience with agile software development methodologies and practices
High level knowledge of security concepts and compliance frameworks (e.g. SOC-2, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR)
Customer-centric mindset: A strong focus on understanding and prioritizing the needs of customers and a genuine commitment to their success.
Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
Relationship-building abilities: The capability to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with customers, especially from mid to senior levels.
Problem-solving skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve customer issues and challenges.
Time management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple customer accounts and tasks simultaneously.
Proactive approach: Being proactive in identifying potential issues, opportunities for improvement, and going the extra mile to ensure customer success.
Team player: Collaborating effectively with other teams within the organization, such as sales, marketing, and product development.
Adaptability: Being adaptable to different customer personalities, challenges, and evolving company needs.
Current AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
Professional degree in Computer Engineering, Software Development preferred
