Job Description

The Financial accountant is responsible to assist performing a variety of tasks to support the company’s financial operations. The role ensures accurate and timely recording of transactions, reconciliations and reporting. They will work closely with team members across commercial and other departments to support financial reporting and responsibilities.

1. Financial Records

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial accounts and accounting records.
  • Assist with the preparation of account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial data for variances and provide explanations.

2. Month End

  • Assist with the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual month end close processes.
  • Prepare general ledger journals, accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
  • Document in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements.

3 Fixed Asset Accounting

  • Assist with physical asset verification.
  • Closure of capital projects and recognition of assets to the balance sheet.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (desirable) or working towards.
  • 2+ years’ accounting experience working in financial or asset accounting fields.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines.
  • Experience with Financial ERP systems (desirable)
