Job Description

The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine.

OceanaGold is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Superintendent - Maintenance (Shutdown), who is responsible for managing the scheduled maintenance shut downs and minor projects in the processing and paste plants. This includes all process related shutdown activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in alignment with the Asset Management Framework AM11 Shutdown and Overhaul Management. The role will report to the Manager - Asset Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishment of the shutdown or overhaul objectives, the key deliverables and determining the event duration
  • Finalize the detailed scope of work for each individual work order, ensuring all aspects are thoroughly defined
  • Ensure that all necessary actions and precautions are thoroughly planned and implemented to safely and efficiently ramp down operations, execute maintenance and any included project tasks, and subsequently ramp up operations

  • Ensure that all maintenance work is thoroughly executed, validated and documented, with the plant and equipment handed back to the production team in a condition ready for safe and reliable operation

  • Evaluate performance and to take the necessary action to deliver shutdown/overhaul excellence

Qualifications

Educational Background:

  • Graduate of mechanical engineering

Work Experience and Background:

  • 3 years Supervisory and Leadership experience
  • 7 years Maintenance Planning and/or Maintenance Reliability
  • 3 years Projects, Scheduling, and Turnaround Management

Specialization/License:

  • Driver’s License
