Job Description
Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Database Administrator – Exploration to be based in Makati office to execute exploration related work programs within the various OGC tenements in a safe and sustainable manner and support the initiative to identify and generate exploration opportunities for potential business transactions. The role will report to the Exploration Manager (Philippines).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Create a GIS based platform to compile, monitor, evaluate and assess industry activities
- Develop and maintain a robust data management system to ensure data availability, accessibility, accuracy, and security.
- Develop and execute workflows to support data collection efforts (mapping and sampling), data import and export, quality control
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate exploration opportunities, due diligence, evaluation, and analysis
- Conduct economic evaluations and risk assessments of exploration opportunities considering factors such as legal boundaries, disputes, demographics
Qualifications
- Behaviour consistent with OceanaGold Values and the OceanaGold Way
- Degree in a relevant and related field such as geology, geography, spatial analysis, geodetic engineering, geomatics, cartography
- Must have at least five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar role
- Experience and awareness of the Mining and Mineral Exploration industry
- Knowledge of mining and mineral exploration industry, from grass roots to advanced stage
- Awareness of geological mapping and geochemical sampling processes including laboratory procedures, QAQC protocols and data analysis
- Experience with relevant and related software – Database, GIS, and Mining
- Experience with Database management software such as Acquire GIM suite, Datamine Fusion, MaxGeo DataShed
- Strong skills with Geographic information software systems such as Mapinfo and/or ArcGIS
- Excellent planning, organizing and prioritization capabilities
- Familiar with mining related software such as Leapfrog
