Job Description
We are seeking candidates for a co-op position within the Finished Products group. This assignment is expected to run from June through December, 2027. As a co-op at O-I, you will be offered challenging and diverse opportunities with access to a variety of networking and social activities. Your co-op experience with O-I will broaden your exposure to our organization and the industry. As you continue to grow, you will take on more independent work, acquire a skill set that contributes to your team’s success, and help shape our future!
You will initially work closely with the Finished Products team members to understand the glass container manufacturing process and the role the team plays in it. More specifically, you will learn about glass container inspection and the cold end, which is the area where all containers are inspected and packaged.
You will then be assigned to work on one or more projects to advance the objectives of the team in cold end operations.
Once assigned, you will have the independence to explore the problem thoroughly and propose solutions to address the problem. You will then work with a team to reach a consensus on the desired solution and work independently to develop and roll out the solution to the Cold End Operations teams or other global teams.
Some of the areas you may be working on as part of this assignment include:
Review, preparation and creation of documents, videos, and other training materials to be used by the operations teams in O-I plants.
- Collaborate with other teams to deploy solutions
- Technical documentation
- Performing experiments (in lab, pilot, and production environments)
- Preparing technical reports to communicate experimental findings and presenting them to multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications
Required:
- Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or similar field, with Junior or Senior status preferred
- Ability to balance several projects
- Good interpersonal skills, in particular networking with team members that may only collaborate through remote working
- Good written communication skills
- Attention to detail and organization
Preferred:
- Ability to create video content
- Ability to self-start and engage
- Ability to handle uncertainty and changing priorities
- Ability to move quickly from ideation to execution
