POSITION: IT Project Manager
JOB TYPE: Direct Hire (W2) with NSC Global

Job Summary:

  • Defining, documenting and safely executing infrastructure projects, actively driving all phases of the project as defined in the Project Delivery Framework and delivering to agreed timescale and budget.
  • Engaging stakeholders at the highest level to ensure that expectations are managed and that the aims of the program or project continue to be aligned with business needs and strategies as they evolve.
  • Providing effective leadership to the project teams assigned and monitoring tasks and adherence to standards and processes. Ensuring team members are motivated and developing their own skills and effective relationships are built and maintained with the Customer and suppliers.
  • Preparing and maintaining project quality and risk plans and tracking progress against the plans, providing regular progress reports to the Customer and steering groups as appropriate.
  • Estimating project costs, timescales and resource requirements in relation to agreed terms of reference. Subsequently monitoring costs, timescales and resources used and taking action where these deviate from plan.
  • Managing a change control process in relation to the project/program, gain agreement for revisions to the scope from project sponsors, and ensure projects continue to meet business objectives. 

Qualifications

The principle responsibilities are:

  • Fully accountable for leading the telecom project(s) and ensuring that solution development and implementation of technical deliverables are completed on time, to budget and to quality requirements.
  • Responsible for managing day - day project actions: ensuring that project activities on track; proactively manage project risks and update key stakeholders; active issue management; managing the project budget; set up and take control of a project team made up of client and suppliers resources.
  • Conduct regular project and steering meetings and log and manage actions arising from these meetings.
  • Has end accountability for maintaining all project management administration (like Project Control Workbooks, Project Delivery Document internal and external project reporting, and project time writing)

Experience and Qualifications required:

  • Must have a minimum of five years of experience delivering Telecom Projects and Network/Voice implementation – Information Protocol Telephony (“IPT”), Wide Area Network (“WAN”) & Local Area Network (“LAN”). 
  • Must have extensive knowledge and practical experience of Cisco networking (although will not get involved directly with configuring these systems).
  • Must have extensive knowledge and practical experience of working with telecommunications carriers.
  • Good written and spoken English language.  Ability to work with staff at all levels.
