Job Description

The Senior Application Tech Analyst reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Sr Application Technical Analyst  is responsible for the overall operation of the system hardware and software, operating systems and data platform, ensuring full operation and integration into NMH information technology and functional environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Includes ongoing monitoring of system performance, installation and upgrade, capacity, and backup and recovery planning, as well as long range life cycle planning for related hardware and software components.
  • The position will require close work with other team members, including, but not limited to the DBA and Application Analysts.
  • Monitors system performance.
  • Takes proactive steps to ensure system availability.
  • Ensures proper backup and recovery processes are implemented.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves day-to-day issues.
  • Documents system changes.
  • Analyzes effects of upgrades and releases.
  • Recommends hardware and software changes.
  • Participates in development of system enhancements. Provides technical leadership and time frame estimates during project planning and implementation.
  • Works with end users and Application Analysts to evaluate system use and requests.
  • Leads and participates in disaster recovery exercises surrounding the planning and activities required to ensure full system restoration.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 8 or more years technical experience with midrange platforms or Local Area Network
  • 3-5 years technical or functional experience with core system
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Health care knowledge or experience
  • Project management experience
  • Certificates within operating system administration software
