About the role

Part time (options for 24 hours+ a week) or full time.

As Vector PowerSmart continues to grow, we are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team.  This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of new energy technology in New Zealand and make a name for yourself in the design and construction of these large-scale systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Civil engineering technical requirements of Solar projects (domestically and internationally).
  • Assisting the Estimator with pricing for the civil aspects of construction projects, as well as preparing technical documents/packages and drawings for tenders and requests for pricing.
  • You will work in our Engineering team alongside our Business Development and Delivery teams to design and calculate costs associated with Solar and Battery systems and ensure a consistent and sound commercial approach is applied at tendering.
  • Construction inspection and monitoring of civil, structural and geotechnical aspects of all ground-mounted projects

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • a relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering
  • 1-3 Years’ work experience
  • experience and knowledge in CAD Design
  • computer literacy in using Microsoft packages, intermediate to advance level preferred, especially in Excel
  • collaborative relationship skills
  • excellent written and communication skills
  • provision of high-quality service to internal and external customers
  • the ability to multi-task, be organised and have good time management skills.
  • Class1 Manual drivers
