Job Description

Under limited supervision, plans, coordinates, leads, and monitors the regulatory oversight of all transplant programs and manages all activities related to the accreditation/ certification of the program with the State, United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and The Joint Commission (TJC). Additionally this role will: Manage the transplant program compliance through internal audits to achieve constant readiness for regulatory site visits and surveys. Serve as the main contact person during site surveys. Prepare materials for surveys and all follow-up requirements after surveys including corrective actions plans, policy and procedure edits, and any other necessary required actions. Guide the UMMC Administrative, Medical and Surgical Directors regarding strategies to ensure good standing with regulatory agencies; policy and procedure making and educating the entire transplant staff on compliance with new and revised guidelines and regulations. Attend regional UNOS meetings to represent UMMC interests and gather information to communicate back to transplant center staff.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or other Health Care field is required.
  • Five years of experience in healthcare with demonstrated knowledge of transplant regulatory compliance
  • CPHQ required
