We are seeking a skilled Project Analyst with a background in laboratory medicine to join our team. As a valued member of TeamUHN, you will play a key role in the Office of Strategy Management, which supports quality improvement and strategic initiatives within the Laboratory Medicine Program. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analytics skills with experience in laboratory data. The Project Analyst will work closely with stakeholders to enhance value and efficiency through data-driven decision-making and the implementation of innovative solutions.
Duties
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Collect, analyze and interpret laboratory data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for process improvements
- Develop and present comprehensive reports to support data-driven decision-making
- Implement project management tools and methodologies to plan, implement and track progress, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to best practices and standards
- Conduct project evaluations to capture lessons learned, measure project success, and recommend improvements for future initiatives
- Work closely with laboratory staff, management, and other stakeholders to understand challenges, gather feedback, and promote a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications
- At minimum, a completion of a Bachelor's degree program or recognized equivalent, required
- Undergraduate degree required in Medical Science, Business or Health Administration, Health Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field, preferred
- Data management and/or health informatics experience in a laboratory medicine setting
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting laboratory data to drive process improvements and support project initiatives
- Project planning, management and implementation experience required.
- 2 - 3 years of practical and related experience in a laboratory medicine setting
- MLT designation, an asset
- Lean/Six Sigma designations, preferred
- Project management designation, preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
