Job Description
Our 12-month internship in collaboration with Year Up provides you with a structured learning environment to help you become a well-rounded consultant and accelerate your career.
The Internship starts with a formal induction, giving you the opportunity to start building your internal networks and deepen your understanding of Turner & Townsend and the NYCHA Monitorship. Turner & Townsend focuses on Project Management, Controls and Performance, Cost and Commercial Management or data and technology and you will have the opportunity to gain experience in each of these areas of the 12 months.
Upon joining you will be provided with a structured development plan for the 12 months that will enable you to apply for the Turner & Townsend Graduate Development Program or seeking new job opportunities. Throughout the internship you will be partnered with a line manager who will provide support & guidance throughout the internship. In addition you will be rotate through the different teams working in the Monitorship to facilitate access to a wide range of experiences.
As well as ‘on-the-job' learning, you will benefit from technical and behavioral training, providing you with the knowledge and skills to support you in your personal development.
The Internship provides:
- A structured program to guide you through the development of your technical skills
- Opportunities to work with data and a range of software tools
- Opportunities to work both office based and field-based tasks
- A plan to support and capture your learning and development needs and achievements
- A large cohort of peers to network with, and,
- The tools to track and report your personal development.
Interns will have the opportunity to play an effective role in the NYCHA Monitorship and providing all aspects of our core services. You will support the project team across multiple aspects of the NYCHA Monitorship. During your time with us, you will gain experience working in a large team and mentors to learn our methodologies as well as having the opportunity to manage your own project independently with accountability for delivery and generating income.

- Data analytics and reporting
- Capital construction monitoring
- Field inspection monitoring
- Organization development and change
- Business process improvement
- Program Management Office
During the internship you will receive training and support to develop your skills alongside your preferred route
The Responsibilities of this internship are
- Shadow and support the teams with a range of tasks
- Visit NYCHA properties to monitor and inspect construction projects
- Support the project management office with track the status of tasks and activities being undertaken by the team
- Enter data into a number of software tools such MS Team, Fulcrum, PowerBI.
- Help undertake research required by each of the teams
- Organize documents as well as support the coordination of internal team
Qualifications
The Requirements of this internship are:
- Interest in the construction or property management industry
- Enrolled in Year-Up
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and think on one’s feet.
- Must be heading into junior or senior year or are a recent graduate
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets or similar spreadsheet software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Please also note this is not a remote role as we operate a hybrid working approach you will need to be willing and able to work in the Turner & Townsend New York office and attend meetings and site visits at NYCHA.
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
