Internship program description 

An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills.  

As a participant of TOMRA Internship Program, you can develop individually. The program is multidisciplinary designated to build your career across TOMRA Food through establishing an excellent international network, as well as working on strategic and operational projects provides a solid basis for a successful international career. 

You will join dynamic teams to tackle exciting and varied projects during your assignments but also in joint team projects with other program participants. 

Project description  

TOMRA Food is already well established in several food categories, ranging from potatoes, nuts to vegetables & fruit, protein and more. Our sales organization is organized from a regional perspective, each region being managed by a regional sales director (RSD). These sales directors are supported by global category directors (GCD). These GCDs are experts in their particular category.  

So far we have Potatoes and Nuts up and running both supported by their own GCD. We have just onboarded a new GCD responsible for Vegetables and Fruit. TOMRA Food has been active from early days in this category but it’s probably one of the most diverse and complex categories out there with a multitude of applications and a wide variety of competitors. Part of the project would be to identify how we can further grow this category to its full potential, and to define how to accomplish this. 

In parallel we are somewhat kick-starting our protein category, a different market with different players, customers and challenges. The second part of the assignment would be to establish a go to market plan to successfully penetrate this category and unlock its potential. 

All the market intelligence and financial data available related to these categories would be at your fingertips, fully supported by both global category directors with our VP of Sales as final stakeholder. 

Qualifications

MBA student knowledgeable in strategy, sales, business administration, international business, business development… 

Successful candidates should have one or more of the following skills/traits: 

  • Fluent in English, extra languages are always a bonus 
  • Knowledgeable in all Microsoft Office tools, Power BI is a plus 
  • Passionate about data crunching, data analytics 
  • Focus on Market Analysis, Strategy, Go to market, Business Development  
  • Keen to work in an international environment 
  • Analytical mindset with excellent ability to derive crisp and clear conclusions 
  • Good communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written)
