We invite you to bring your skills and motivation into play as you support the development of our global offshore wind team. As our new Intern, you will be part of our Offshore Wind Advisory team based in Madrid.

You will take on a key role in developing a knowledge base for the offshore wind supply chain in the Mediterranean region, with a focus on Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece. The review will focus on offshore wind fabrication and manufacturing scopes for bottom-fixed and floating wind structures, but this may be extended to other elements of an offshore wind farm. The review shall cover both well established and newcomers with potential to enter the offshore wind industry and serve projects located in the Mediterranean region and overseas. This role will give you the opportunity to interface with multiple experts across our international organisation, navigate through multiple databases and interact with the supply chain players.

Your tasks and responsibilities

You will support the department with the development of a knowledge base for the supply chain in the Mediterranean region. This knowledge base will be developed with the objective of addressing the following key topics:

• Key information and facts (location, ownership, founding date, main scope, etc.).
• Brief description of facilities.
• Track record in the offshore wind industry or other industry where skills and expertise are transferable (e.g. Oil and Gas).
• Capabilities for undertaking the manufacturing and supply of bottom-fixed and/or floating wind structures, either whole scope, major or sub-components.
• Storage capacity, yard and quay access and specifications.

In order to develop the knowledge base, you will have access to the internal relevant project database, and you will approach colleagues from different disciplines and departments, in order to obtain their feedback and learn from their experience. Publicly available information will also be the basis of your study, as well as information gathered through an outreach to the identified supply chain players.

Furthermore, depending on the development of the knowledge base, you may be asked to join and participate in other projects, supporting other experienced Consultants.

Your qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s student degree (ongoing) in a relevant topic area connected to engineering, preferably Energy, Civil/Structural or Naval Architecture.
• High level of proficiency in written and spoken English; additional languages are beneficial.
• Able to work independently
• You enjoy contacts with others and confidently engage with colleagues, with a proactive approach
• Detailed and systematic approach towards the tasks
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Multidisciplinary approach and open to work with teams from different disciplines
