Join Illinois premiere health care system!  We have ultrasound technologist positions available at many of our system locations.

The Ultrasound Technologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures through the use of ultrasound equipment to generate information necessary for the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of patients in accordance with industry, departmental, and hospital policies and procedures.

The Ultrasound Technologist must have graduated from an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (CAAHEP accreditation preferred), demonstrate technical competency and have a current BLS certification through the American Heart Association. 

ARDMS SP&I certification is mandatory.  New hires have 3 months to 1 year to obtain the relevant specialty certification required. The timeline for additional certifications varies by department and specifics will be shared with you by the recruiter.  New grads must be able to provide a Certificate of Completion from their school.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Physics and RVT within 12 months of hire.
  • Must be registered or registry eligible by in Abdomen, or OB/GYN. 
  • If registry eligible, must obtain registry in Physics and one specialty within 12 months of hire. 
  • If registered in Physics and one specialty, must obtain second specialty within six months of hire. 
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Physical Demand Requirement:
    • Physical demands required for this role include lift/carry up to 50 pounds and a push/pull force up to 50 pounds
