Victory Steel Pte Ltd is embarking on a significant growth journey and is progressing the acquisition of a well-established steel manufacturing operation. To support this next stage of development, the company is seeking an experienced General Manager to provide strategic leadership and operational direction.

Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will take ownership of the company's manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, commercial, quality, safety, and people functions, ensuring operational efficiency, strong financial performance, and sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will strengthen financial discipline and governance, safeguard the Company's assets, support sustainable growth and investment, and provide forward-looking advice that enables sound commercial and operational decision-making.

Key responsibilities: 

• Provide strategic leadership across manufacturing, engineering and maintenance functions to ensure safe, efficient and reliable steel mill operations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production capacity, optimise plant performance, improve product quality and reduce operating costs.
• Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing workforce, fostering a culture of accountability, safety and operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislative, regulatory and industry certification requirements.
• Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, procurement and resource management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and key stakeholders to support business success.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for business growth, product diversification and value-added manufacturing solutions.
• Partner closely with the Board and Directors to execute the company's strategic vision and achieve long-term business objectives.

• An Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline).
• Significant leadership experience in steel manufacturing, particularly within rolling mill operations.
• Strong technical and operational knowledge of steel production, maintenance and plant management systems.
• A history of delivering measurable improvements in productivity, quality, reliability and profitability.
• Proven leadership capability with the ability to build, motivate and retain high-performing teams.
• Experience restoring operational efficiency, improving plant performance, and leading manufacturing turnaround efforts will be highly regarded.
• Familiarity with steel industry standards, certification requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Strong commercial, safety and stakeholder management capabilities.
• The drive, integrity and strategic mindset to lead a growing manufacturing business.
