WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Impact Controller is a new role within the H&M Foundation and will play a central part in ensuring that our projects and overall portfolio deliver results according to our mission and strategic direction. In this position, you will connect strategy with execution — making sure our projects, systems, and ways of working are aligned, efficient, and designed to maximize our impact. You’ll oversee the management of the overall project portfolio, strengthen how we measure and visualize impact, lead financial and budget setting and contribute to the strategic development and operational management of the foundation. Ultimately, you’ll be a key driver in making sure our mission translates into measurable progress in line with our DNA and values.
Your responsibilities
Impact & insights
- Develop progressive and relevant methods and metrics to measure and showcase our impact at both portfolio and project level.
- Monitor and evaluate impact and financial performance on aggregated level and provide support to teams to do so on project level.
- Build reliable systems and processes to ensure that impact data is gathered, analyzed, and used in ways that strengthen learning and decision-making.
Portfolio management
- Maintain a clear overview of our project portfolio and assess its alignment with our strategic direction and goals.
- Recommend actions to optimize the portfolio for maximum impact and long-term value.
- Provide support to teams on impact measurement and project governance in the exploration, development and execution of projects.
Budget, governance & strategic development
- Drive the budget setting processes , both long-term and short-term and oversee progress against them.
- Support in setting organizational goals and ensuring effective follow-up.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of core strategic frameworks, such as our barriers-and-levers map to decarbonization in the textile industry.
- Lead the continuous development of the foundation’s approach to AI and its application in our work.
Examples of key tasks and deliverables:
- Regular overviews and analysis of impact and financial performance of H&M Foundation’s portfolio of projects
- Frameworks and guidelines for impact measurement and project management
- Stakeholder engagement to identify new and progressive ways to measure impact
- Lead annual budget setting process and regular follow-ups, including setting and maintaining routines for budgeting and book-keeping
- 3 year financial plan
WHO YOU ARE:
We are looking for people with:
- 5+ working experience focused on sustainability in the textile industry.
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Controller
- Knowledge on sustainability impact with a particular focus on climate, including methods, measurements, and tools for monitoring, learning and evaluation
- Proven track record of formal or informal leadership
- Experience from project management and governance
- Experience from working with AI, preferably connected to impact measurement
- Advanced knowledge in Excel and Power BI
