Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Business Expert within one of our product teams in a value stream/area, you are accountable for ensuring that the product meets customer, and end-user needs while delivering significant value to the business. You serve as the business ambassador, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Product Designers, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and realize desired outcomes that contribute to business value.

 

You bring a dual perspective, combining deep subject matter expertise in the business area with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of product development. This enables you to effectively identify the need for updated business processes or other changes that align with end-user and customer needs. You drive these changes to optimize both the product and the associated processes.

 

In your role, you are responsible for ensuring that the product achieves its intended value by managing change effectively, both for end users and other stakeholders, ensuring a smooth and successful product implementation.

 

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people that…

  • Contribute specialized business area expertise to enhance the value of the product(s) from both end-user and customer perspectives.
  • Serve as a primary contact, fostering understanding of the product's purpose and plan within and between products, as well as externally.
  • Identify new product features that align with desired business outcomes and customer needs by assessing feasibility and requirements.
  • Translate business needs into user stories for implementation in the product(s).
  • Deepen understanding of existing business needs and processes within the area by leveraging data and user insights to develop material that supports critical business decisions and initiatives.
  • Ensure the product delivers the intended business value by performing UAT, acceptance tests, change management, and training for end-users and stakeholders, while maintaining engagement and motivation among end-users.
  • Continuously enhance collaboration among stakeholders to build mutual understanding of how technology can drive business value and how business needs integrate with technology.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3+ years of operational experience in your subject matter expertise, specifically within the consumer retail industry.
  • Experience in business development or product development, ideally within the consumer retail industry a plus.
  • Familiarity with product analytics tools and project management methodologies.
  • Experience with change management and user training methodologies.
