Job Description
Summary of Position
The Programmer Analyst supports the Workday ecosystem at Augsburg University and is responsible for the technical health of two critical areas: Workday Platform (HCM, Finance, and Payroll) and Workday Student (Student Records and Lifecycle).
Primary Responsibilities
- Integrated Process Architecture: Design and map organizational workflows across the entire community lifecycle, ensuring accurate data flow across all modules from student registration to employee payroll.
- System Governance & Security: Maintain the platform security framework to protect sensitive FERPA-related student data and Payroll-related employee data.
- Academic & Business Logic Translation: Partner with the Registrar, HR, and Finance departments to translate policies like degree requirements or compensation structures into automated business processes.
- End-User Experience (UX) Optimization: Continuously improve digital experiences, including optimizing self-service portals for student registration and employee benefit management.
- Release & Lifecycle Management: Participate in testing and implementing semi-annual software updates and perform impact analysis for new features.
- Holistic Data Analytics: Build advanced reports and dashboards to provide leadership with a 360-degree view of student success, institutional finance, and workforce health.
- System Integration Support: Build and maintain integrations between Workday and other enterprise and third-party systems.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in IT department and working group meetings to stay informed about current IT systems and policies and provide feedback and guidance for the design and evolution of IT systems and policies.
- Support and participate in projects brought forward by the Enterprise Solution team.
- All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s).
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Typical work environment is an office, with visits to faculty and staff offices as needed. Sedentary work for long periods of time.
- Regular computer keyboard, mouse, and monitor use.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree and two (2) years of relevant professional experience in Information Technology OR a combination of education and/or relevant professional experience in Information Technology equal to four (4) years.
- Experience in Excel, SQL, or another data-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least five (5) years of relevant professional experience in Information Technology.

Compensation & Benefits at Augsburg
- The compensation range is $72,000 - $75,000 annually, DOQ.
