If you are passionate about strengthening health security in Africa, we invite you to express your interest in joining us as the One Health – Global Health Security Manager. This role offers an opportunity to shape and expand Amref’s One Health portfolio, strengthening health security efforts across Africa.
In this role, you will focus on:
- Strategic Leadership & Growth: Guide Amref’s One Health strategy, align it with regional and global priorities, and build partnerships with key stakeholders, including donors, governments, and research institutions.
- Program Management & Implementation: Oversee the execution of One Health initiatives, focusing on diagnostics, emergency preparedness, and infectious disease surveillance.
- Personnel & Financial Oversight: Manage project teams, ensure compliance with donor regulations, and oversee financial and operational performance.
- Research & Advocacy: Lead knowledge-sharing, contribute to scientific research, and represent Amref in global and regional forums.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Public Health, Clinical Medicine, Medical Laboratory Sciences, or a related field.
- At least eight (08) years of experience in One Health, health security, or laboratory programs.
- Strong strategic thinking, program management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in business development and resource mobilization.
- Fluency in English; French is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
