The Fairmont Canadian Western Mountain Region’s Golf Course Collection has established an opportunity for students in post-secondary golf programs to learn about the industry and grow their careers during the summer season. The ideal candidates will be positive, service focused, and interested in building their golf career.

Students considering this opportunity should be interested in a resort environment, willing to learn and develop themselves while gaining experience through exposure to multiple properties and operations in different capacities. Fairmont is considered an industry leader in service and hospitality.

This program involves a student working three summer seasons at each our three different golf courses. Each season the student will take on a new role; one in golf retail, guest service and finally a golf leadership role.

Our region has 3 properties with golf courses; Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, Fairmont Banff Springs & Fairmont Chateau Whistler.

Note - preference will be given to those that our available for the full season (May-October 15th)

Starting Rate: $18.20 per hour - $20.40 per hour, this is dependent on the position and property based.

We recognize tenure through our compensation. Hourly rates increase after six months, and yearly to three years.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Golf Managment Program 
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License
• Able to work flexible hours (early morning, evening and occasional split shifts)
• Ability to work well within both a team setting and an independent setting with limited supervision
• Interest in becoming or have already entered the CPGA Apprentice or Candidate program
• Proficient in computer skills (Opera and POS systems)
• Strong knowledge of the game of golf and its principles surrounding etiquette is required
• Proactive with a demonstrated eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple functions
• Highly motivated and guest driven with a passion to continually exceed expectations and anticipate needs
