We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Finance & Controlling Developer to join a large-scale SAP S/4HANA Transformation initiative.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of SAP applications and technical solutions supporting Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) business processes.

You will play a key role in translating business and technical requirements into scalable, reliable, and maintainable SAP solutions, developing custom applications, enhancing existing functionalities, and ensuring seamless integration across the SAP landscape.

The position combines strong SAP ABAP development expertise with practical knowledge of SAP Finance & Controlling processes, technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration, offering the opportunity to contribute to a complex enterprise transformation program.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP applications and custom solutions supporting Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) business processes.

• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable development solutions.

• Develop custom ABAP / ABAP OO applications, reports, interfaces, forms, and enhancements within the SAP FI/CO environment.

• Implement and maintain integrations between SAP FI/CO, other SAP modules, and external systems.

• Develop and optimize APIs, interfaces, and data exchange processes supporting financial operations.

• Perform debugging, error analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of FI/CO-related developments.

• Collaborate closely with SAP FI/CO Functional Consultants, product owners, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners.

• Contribute to the design of technical concepts, solution architectures, and development standards.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring code quality, maintainability, and consistency.

• Support the continuous improvement of SAP development processes, tools, and quality standards.

• Participate in agile development activities, team ceremonies, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Required Qualifications:

• Several years of professional experience in SAP ABAP Development, with relevant hands-on experience in SAP Finance & Controlling (FI/CO) solutions, ideally at senior level.

• Strong knowledge of ABAP development and object-oriented programming (ABAP OO).

• Solid understanding of SAP FI/CO processes, data structures, and technical integration points.

• Hands-on experience developing custom reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and applications supporting SAP Finance and Controlling.

• Experience with SAP development tools and modern development practices.

• Knowledge of SAP integration technologies, APIs, and data exchange formats.

• Experience with software development, testing, version control, and deployment processes.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

• Ability to analyse technical requirements and translate them into sustainable, scalable, and maintainable SAP solutions.

• Experience collaborating with SAP Functional Consultants, product owners, business stakeholders, and technical teams.

• A degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and professional experience.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• A structured, independent, and solution-oriented approach to work.

• Very good English communication skills.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience developing SAP FI/CO-related solutions in SAP S/4HANA environments.

• Knowledge of modern SAP development technologies, such as CDS Views, OData Services, RAP, or SAP BTP.

• Familiarity with SAP Clean Core principles and modern extensibility approaches.

• Experience with complex SAP Finance integrations and custom developments.

• Experience working in agile product teams, DevOps environments, or large-scale SAP transformation projects.

• German language skills.
