Job Description

So, what are the main responsibilities of an Oracle DBA in Netcompany? 

Our client, a leading international financial institution based in Luxembourg, is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join their team. This role involves providing day-to-day onsite support to internal application teams while managing, maintaining, and optimizing complex database environments.

As an Oracle DBA, you will:

  • Administer and maintain Oracle 19c databases hosted on Red Hat Linux with VMware virtualization.
  • Provide day-to-day onsite support to internal application and development teams.
  • Support application releases, deployments, and database-related changes.
  • Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement performance tuning improvements.
  • Plan and manage capacity and resource forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain database procedures, configuration standards, and documentation.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery using DataGuard.
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation, covering multiple database technologies (Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Sybase).

Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree or equivalent qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle 19c and DataGuard environments.
  • Strong expertise in Linux administration (Red Hat environment).
  • Proven ability in database troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Shell scripting, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and working within an ITIL framework.
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to enforce database security, integrity, and best practices.

It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Exposure to other database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL,Sybase.
